It’s Tuesday and I have been getting brain cramps trying to think of a kind act I have performed for someone or one that someone has done for me. Unfortunately, the last five days have been spent with my brother, Cartman. It takes every ounce of my strength to deal with him for one day, let alone five and I am exhausted. There will be a therapeutic post about him somewhere in the near future! The only kindness I can think of is one that I have been working on periodically over the past few years and have recently started again. Baby hats.
What?

psssst…..did she say baby hats? What the heck does that mean?
Just what it sounds like. I have been knitting hats for infants. According to Save the Children, keeping a newborn warm is one of the simple steps for saving lives. I have yarn. Lots of yarn. Baskets and baskets overflowing with yarn’y goodness and decided to take some of it and make some hats.
At the beginning of November I said I wanted to finish between 10-20 before Thanksgiving, I have four done so far, so I need to get my fingers flying! If you are a knitter and you have some extra time and yarn, this is a great cause. It takes so little to whip up one of the patterns on Save the Children’s website. Won’t you send off one or two of your own little hats?
Let me know if you are going to participate too!

I love the baby hats. Unfortunately for the children, or maybe fortunately for them, I’ll have to pass. I failed miserably at crochet lessons, so I never went on to knitting. But I may need to make a donation online;)
Rupe knits naught!
But Rupe is in great support of your (soon to be) “blistering” fingers!
Pokey-pokey … !!!
Beautiful. You have NO idea how something seemingly so small can make such an impact. Bless you for sharing your talent — and your heart.
You rock! Baby hats are a fantastic cause.
xo
This is a wonderful post. I think you reflect the absolute attitude of this project – kindness in the midst of everything. Very very well done!
Pure awesomeness! What a great thing you are doing.
If I could knit, I’d knit a bunch. Unfortunately only thing I can do is duct tape the yarn to their little heads.
Maybe I better look for a better way to help them.
