Today DC and I, and a dear 'old friend' of DC's are going to court to have DC's best friend committed in order to try and save his life. DC's best friend is the brother of the 'old friend" whom we picked up at the airport last night. DC's best friend - a man once sweet and kind has become such a bad alcoholic that even the local hospitals that he's been too last few weeks say he has five months at best if he doesn't dry out and clean up. So today my act of kindness is one that DC's best friend will probably hate me for. I truly don't care if the best friend hates me, as long as he is alive and around to hate me, it means it worked.

bah - sure doesn't sound to kind, committing someone against their will - but trust me, in this case it is one of the biggest acts of kindness I've ever done.

I applaud your dedication to committing Everyday Kindness. There are days I just want to smack people down lately. Maybe I should re-evaluate how to handle "those people."

P.S. I loved your NaNo chapter (even though I am a slacker ass friend who did not comment on the original post).

I found your link at Everyday Kindness and it’s nice to meet you. I’ve been a member of Everyday Kindness since the beginning and am planning to participate in Simply Kind Tuesdays at my Sacred Ruminations blog … starting with today’s post honoring Veterans. Like you, I’m grateful for those who read and comment on each of my blogs. Best wishes to your participation in NaNoWri Mo. I’m participating in NaBloPoMo for the second year running, but I’m not ready to tackle a novel yet. Maybe next year?
Hugs and blessings,

Good Morning Girlfriend! Great Post. I know I meant every word I said about Gracie and her journey. I'm sure the others did too!

My act of kindness today? It's Veteran's Day. I'll be praying for all our men and women that have, are and will serve our country. If I actually run into one today, I'll buy them coffee ... or lunch.

Great post! We all meant what we said about Gracie. I can't wait to read more.
As for my act of kindness, that's a good question.. must commence thinking ;)

Awesome post! I love this Everyday Kindness Idea. Today I am wearing wind pants to school b/c one of my students was very upset when his mom dressed him in wind pants for school and they made noise when he walked. So in solidarity for my student I'm wearing mine today. Let the noise commence in the class room! :)

Well done! I love the circular nature of this post -->the kindness your received and are giving<-- nice! I think we are all excited to learn more about Gracie.

My kind act for the day was to myself. I got up to write rather than lay in bed awake for hours wondering why I can't get my writing done.... ;)
