Now that Halloween is a distant memory, it’s time to start gearing up for the holidays. I have been thinking a lot about what I want for Christmas and the answer is nothing. There is nothing I want or need. What I wish is that I had more to give instead, more money, more time and more energy for these 13 things:
- More boxes for Operation Christmas Child – We did six tonight and LW is taking supplies to school to finish two more for his class tomorrow.
- More time to work on infant hats for Knit One, Save One – it takes so little to save a child’s life
- More time to volunteer – at the animal shelter or one of the rescue groups in our area
- More money to buy fleece to make blankets for Project Linus
- More toys to give to Toys for Tots
- More money to buy things for Angels from the Angel Tree
- More food to give to the food pantry at church
- More old towels to give to the animal shelter
- More money to make packages for Adopt A Soldier
- More money to buy food and supplies for Heaven Can Wait - the organization where we adopted Scooby
- More everything to give to the ASPCA to keep healthy animals from being destroyed
- More clothes and toys to donate to the Shade Tree Shelter to help women and children leaving abusive relationships
- More….just more everything to give.
What are you doing to make this holiday season just a little bit brighter for someone else?
Happy TT!

I love that all your wishes are for the means and ways to help others!!! You are so awesome! Love you girlie!
you are such a cheerful giver!
This is such a cool twist on “Wanting more”! I’ve got a whole stack of tabs lined up to check our your charities. I’ve always wanted to do Operation Christmas Child but have always been too late…definitely going to look into that one. Thanks for sharing your TT. I’ve got to get to work on mine.
Im inspired and so grateful you provided links. I always say I’m going to do something like that, then time and money slip away. I think I’ll ask my sisters and nieces to join me in and make it a family project.
Thank you!
What a list! Good for you for doing all of these things. (Animal shelters take old towels?)
You do inspire!
You are such a generous person. Always thinking about others. You rock my socks off!!! Muah!
You have a big heart. Those are wonderful things to wish for. Happy TT and thanks for stopping by:)
A beautiful T13….Have a good day
Woot woot wooot on number 1 and good for you on the others!
How nice to see an Xmas list that isn’t all about wanting stuff!
Wow, what a beautiful TT. You are more generous than anyone else I know. I hope all of your wishes come true;)
Wow! Excellent source you have provided here. This was a great idea. I hope you realize all the lives you touch by doing all these great things. Just another reason why I adore you!
Wow, what great wishes and what great work! You rock and I hope your Christmas gives you the joy you so generously share with others.
Halloween is a distant memory? Whoa. Have you looked around the house?
Beautiful wishes. Loves…
I get so overwhelmed when I think of all the things on that list; but then, if I focus in on one or two, I can still do a lot of good for some people. The kids and I are focusing heavily on the food pantry this year. It’s something they want to do, and I want to encourage.
Lovely inspiration! Thanks for the reminder to get busy!!
We did Operation Christmas Child at church – if you want the brief story of how it started my friend Karen did a talk about it at church (the website is http://www.russellpark.org – there is a podcast on there!)
We packed over 100 boxes that was with some still to be done!
Being an animal lover I was so happy to see the shelters mention on your list more than once. -smile-
What a great idea! Love these! I’d like to do a few of them myself.
