A good book has no ending.

I did something crazy this week and signed up for National Novel Writing Month. The object is to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days during November. I love to write, but HATE sharing what I have written with the public so this was a huge decision for me!
After much hemming and hawing, I decided to pick a genre first. Chick Lit will be my category, so to inspire me, this week’s Thursday Thirteen is a list of my 13 favorite chick lit books. Let me know if you have any to add to the list!
1. Meg Cabot – Queen of Babble
2. Meg Cabot – Size 12 is Not Fat
3. Emily Giffin – Something Borrowed
4. Kristin Gore – Sammy’s House
5. Kristin Gore – Sammy’s Hill
6. Jane Green – The Other Woman
7. Kate Jacobs – The Friday Night Knitting Club
8. Sandra Kring – The Book of Bright Ideas
9. Lorna Landvik – Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons
10. Mary Alice Monroe – The Book Club
11. Louise Shaffer – The Ladies of Garrison Gardens
12. Plum Sykes – Bergdorf Blondes
13. Lauren Weisberger – The Devil Wears Prada
I could have added so many more books to this list….maybe it will be another post!
Happy TT to you all!

I’m a guy I don’t read to many chick books, in fact i don’t know if I’ve read any but I do like the Jane Austen stories. I’m not really for sure how chickish they are, I am sure they are more chickesh then the books I normally read are.
I haven’t read any of them!!!
Rebecca Wells and Jennifer Weiner are two of my personal chick-lit favorites. I have read the first Kristin Gore book but not the second.
BTW, I still have your copy of DWP. LOL.
Ooh, what’s your NaNo username, may I ask? Not that I can add you today, though – the site’s b0rked today, or it was a few hours ago. But I can add you when it’s working again. I’m Fahrig.
Have a lovely day!
P.S. And is it just my computer, or is the Thursday Thirteen site not coming up with today’s date?
Interestingly, I have not read a single one of those books. (I wonder if I have a chick lit aversion just like I have a chick flick aversion…hmmmm)
I have not read any of those either.
Great list! I did a book list this week too
Happy TT
Oh my….good luck with this, can I say, adventure?! Ya adventure. It’s a huge endeavor, but with your talents I’m sure it’ll be an adventure!!
Now, tell me, is this going to be published on your blog with daily sections?
Happy Thursday.
I haven’t read any of those, but I was thinking I’d like to get back to reading more, so this is a great place to start. I’m sure I’ve read others I liked, but the chick lit that comes to mind for me is Summer Sisters by Judy Blume. I read it a few years ago and found the same author that had written so many books I’d loved as a kid also wrote something more adult that I also just loved.
I admire you for giving the novel writing a go – good luck!
I love Meg Cabot! I can so see you writing like her. She’s like that character – bubbly and blabby! I had the chance to talk to her in the Open Grove – very fun.
I’m so excited for you!
I did read the Devil Wears Prada, but that’s about the extent of my chick lit experience. Happy TT
Hey, make sure your account is still at Nanowrimo. They had a computer glitch and lost some accounts and stuff from yesterday (I cannot find you anywhere there).
I really love this list. I am bookmarking it for later, for next I want to go to the library and my brain is buzzing and about to explode with stuff I HAVE to read. This will be perfect.
